If you do not want the Retriever to automatically turn on the television it is connected to, you may want to disable the HDMI CEC feature.
- While the Retriever is playing its content, click any button on the remote or keyboard.
- This will bring up a menu. Back out by hitting “Home” or “←” on the remote or “Escape” or “Home” on a keyboard.
- On the home screen, you should see a menu icon for “ODroid Settings” which you want to select.
- This will bring up a smaller menu from which you can select “HDMI CEC.”
- Once there, you will see some toggle switches for the CEC settings.
- Toggle them off, so that they are darkened and gray.
- You can then let Retriever start up itself, or exit back out of the menu and select the “Retriever 3” icon.
- You should now be able to turn the TV off without the Retriever turning it back on.
If at any time the Retriever Software tries to start playing, simply hit ESC or the Back Arrow ( ← ) to go back to what you were doing.
